Citronella essential oil is a yellow to brownish-yellow mobile liquid with a warm-woody, fresh, grassy and powerful, lemony aroma and slight camphoraceous note. Perhaps the most often used essential oil for repelling mosquitoes prior to modern chemical products, Citronella has made a comeback in non-synthetic preparations for insect control in the home and garden and is used extensively in household cleaning products and industrial perfumes.
